Support a group of very independent men and women who live in their own homes on both the East & West sides of Madison! Provide in-home and community-based support to individuals who experience disabilities, so they can make their own informed decisions, and live their lives independently.

These people are fun, energetic, and caring. Everyone is so unique and amazing in their own way. While you are supporting individuals who experience disabilities and live independently, remember they are in charge! We provide information and coaching on how to do what they want, while remaining safe. All these individuals are independent and self-advocates! They are helpful, caring and receptive to others. Working with people never gets boring and every day is different, which is half the fun!

Seeking candidates who are good communicators, perceptive, able to reframe conversations based on the person they’re talking to, i.e. know how to phrase something based on how the other person may interpret it, leave thorough notes for other staff, and unafraid of asking supervisors questions to clarify! Excellent time management skills are important, and flexibility in this role is a must! Plans may change rapidly and staff must be able to be flexible to the changing plans and shifting priorities, while also not losing sight of their responsibilities.

  • Encourage healthy meal choices & cooking.

  • Assistance with diabetic meal planning, and controlling diabetes.

  • Personal cares (like helping someone get dressed, using the restroom, etc) are minimal, but you must be willing to assist when necessary.

  • Numerous individuals own cats and at times may need assistance in caring for their pet.

Position Details

  • Position Title: Supported Living Staff.

  • Part Time staff earn $16.00/hour.

  • Full Time staff earn $17.00/hour.

  • Earn a $250 sign-on bonus 

  • Part Time & Full Time openings.

  • Hours may vary*: Weekends, week days & evenings.

  • Located on both the East and West Side of Madison, WI, with possible travel to surrounding areas.

  • REQUIRED: Access to a vehicle in good working condition, a valid WI driver’s license, an acceptable driving record and proof of vehicle insurance, which meets CLC’s standards.

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities not required. We will train you!
